Looking to break through training barriers and improve your athletic performance? Want to bulk up and build some serious muscle?

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then the good news is that Anadrol can help!

So what’s the bad news? Well, it’s illegal for starters. It will also wreck your liver and believe me the side effects are no joke.

But wait, there’s more good news! Some clever scientists have figured out how you can still get the benefits without so much risk.

Thanks to those boffins, there are now similar but much safer alternatives to Anadrol, (like Crazy Bulk’s Anadrole for example) that are every bit as effective without the huge string of negatives.

If you’re considering adding Anadrol or a safer alternative into your fitness regime, but want to know all of the information before you commit, then this article is for you.

Here, we’re going to look at what Anadrol is and what it’s used for. We’ll cover the benefits and side effects too. We’ll also look at dosages and the best way to incorporate it into your cycle.

By the end of this article, you’ll know everything you need to know to decide whether Anadrol is right for you.

What is Anadrol?

*Puts on a lab coat and geeky spectacles*

Anadrol is an anabolic androgenic steroid or AAS. The active compound in Anadrol is oxymetholone.

You might have heard of Anadrol 50, which is just oxymetholone sold in 50mg pills.

Anabolic means that it is used to build muscle. Androgenic refers to the development of male characteristics as a result of hormones like testosterone and androsterone.

Anadrol has an anabolic rating of 320 and an androgenic rating of 45.

The compound was originally developed in the 1960s and was designed to treat muscle wasting in anaemic patients.

Bodybuilders soon discovered that it could help them retain muscle mass and began using it to increase their strength and size.

Anadrol is classed as a 17aa steroid. This means that the 17th molecule in the chain has been altered to make it suitable for oral consumption. There are lots of other steroids that fall into this category.

What is Anadrol used for?

Anadrol is hugely beneficial for those wanting to gain a lot of muscle mass. It also increases your strength.

It’s fantastic for bulking. It’s not much good for cutting because it encourages water retention.

You can achieve serious gains in only 3 weeks with this stuff. The downside is that you will lose those gains fairly quickly once you stop taking it, which is why a lot of bodybuilders opt to combine it with another bulking steroid like Trenbolone.

Anadrol has a half-life of 16 hours and is detectable in your system for up to 8 weeks.

Anadrol side effects?

Anadrol puts serious stress on your liver – you should completely avoid alcohol when taking it.

Other side effects include, but are not limited to:

  • Liver cancer
  • Depression
  • Stomach pain
  • Insomnia
  • Jaundice
  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Loss of appetite
  • High blood pressure
  • Bloating

Unlike a lot of other steroids, Anadrol does not help you to shed water weight. In fact, it will do the opposite, causing you to retain water like crazy.

Because of this a lot of athletes complain about Anadrol making them look fat, puffy or bloated. But you can avoid this if you get yourself as lean and clean as possible before you start your cycle.

You should expect to lose a fair amount of water weight when you finish your cycle.

Does it cause gyno?

On the whole, you do not need to worry about oestrogen related side effects. Anadrol does not normally convert to oestrogen, but it can in some cases.

Whether you’ll experience Gyno, mood swings or any other oestrogen based side effects while taking Anadrol depends on your unique physiology and brain chemistry.

It’s rare, but it does happen.

Anadrol bodybuilding

It’s known as the a-bomb for a reason.

Anadrol is fantastic for bulking up before a competition. It works so fast and you can gain up to 1lb a day during the first couple of weeks (if you take between 50 and 100 mg).

If you need a powerful steroid to increase your size fast then you can’t really do much better. It’s just a shame that such a potent steroid has so many nasty side effects.

Having said that, people are getting amazing results with the very similar but much safer alternatives out there, so I’d recommend checking those out before you take the plunge.

Don’t expect to just take Anadrol and gain like crazy. Your nutrition, genetics and how much you work out still play a role and will affect your results.

Will Anadrol make me big?

If you haven’t guessed by now, the answer to this question is HECK YES IT WILL MAKE YOU BIG!

In fact, it will give you muscles the Hulk would be jealous of.

You can reasonably expect to gain somewhere in the region of 10lbs during the first two weeks

and it’s not unusual for bodybuilders to have gained 30 lbs by the end of a 6-week cycle.

It’s normal to get to around 25 lbs and then for gains to start to taper off.

There are few steroids that are better than Anadrol when it comes to getting big.

BUT, and it’s a big one!

You will also lose those gains rapidly as soon as you stop taking it.

Anadrol cycle for beginners

As with any strong medication, it’s a good idea to first check with your doctor (or a medical professional) to make sure you’re not at an increased risk.

Use it for 4 to 6 weeks at the beginning of a bulking cycle and watch the magic happen!

Start your dosage low and work your way up once you see how your body responds.

If you’re new to AAS you will gain a LOT of mass. Probably more than a seasoned steroid user.

You will probably retain more water as well. So be prepared for that.

Don’t take it for any longer than 6 consecutive weeks. You don’t need to anyway as the gains will taper off and it won’t be worth it.

It’s also not a good choice for cutting because of the water retention.

Let’s wrap this up.

So there you have it. Anadrol is seriously powerful, but it’s also seriously dangerous. Which is probably why it’s illegal.

Thankfully, there are now legal alternatives that give very similar results without as much of the risk.

So, if you like the sound of Anadrol, I’d encourage you to check out a similar but more natural alternative like anadrole.
